Once Upon a Time Review/Opinions: The Stable Boy Part 1

We FINALLY find out how a little girl named Snow White becomes such a big pain in the butt for tomboy, horse riding, abused Regina!

Okay, this episode was suppose to give us the reason behind all the hatred that our Evil Queen has for Snow White. While I agree that The Stable Boy was a good episode some of it kind of irked me. Lets start with Regina and her mother. We're shown that Regina's mother Cora was originally the one with the magic in this warped little family (more backstory for this character seems to be coming in the future). Cora seems to enjoy using and abusing her powers and most of the time that "enjoyment" is directed onto her daughter. Just another form of physical abuse in Fairy Tale Land. Now that's really bad but this sadistic gal loves to verbally abuse Regina as well. I've read on other reviews that Regina was originally not evil and "was just as kind and sweet as Snow White once." Well, Regina may have been kind and caring here but we're looking at a woman who is dangling on a precipice. She's a lady who's been abused by her mother for probably all her life. Regina was NOT a well balanced girl at all but one who had to tip toe on pins and needles around her mother. Every time she tried to show a little independence her mother was there to crush her hopes. What a parent and what a role model!
