Once Upon a Time "The Return" Review Part 1

Finally after THREE WEEKS and we get a very packed, twisting episode which delivers and yet doesn't at the same time! I wasn't going to review this episode until tomorrow but then I thought oh well. better do it now while it's still fresh in my mind. I know I'll leave tons out. I tend to do that but please feel free to leave a comment about anything that may be on your mind or something I didn't hit upon for this episode!

Wow! It really looked like this August fellow was going to be the son of a certain magical impish being now wasn't it? There was nooo doubt that he couldn't possibly be anything other than him! NOT!!! Not to me at least. lol! Wait, I'm getting ahead of myself. Okay, the series returns from the spring hiatus; hope they all had a great spring break, with a recap of what has been going on this season. Yay, Mary Margaret is off the hook for murder because Emma found a bum behind Granny's diner! Wait, I mean a confused Katheryn of course. Now we see August in bed having some kind of leg spasms or something. They're so bad he falls out of bed. Whoa! What's your problem Auggy? He staggers to his desk which has some kind of doggy paper weight on it and calls someone (Could it be Archie? That's what I thought. lol). He says their plans aren't going fast enough or something. Oh, no! It must have been little Henry. Those two hatch a plan to find something in Mr. Gold's office. How cruel is August? Placing little Henry up as a decoy so you can sneak into Gold's office back door. Does Henry know more about August now then we do? Did August tell him something? Hmmm. Anyway, his plan clearly doesn't work because he's still caught by a slightly peed off Mr. Gold asking what does he want and why is he in his office. I say slightly peed because by the end of this episode Gold will be majorly peed and rightly so in my eyes! Much more than here. August gets off with some lame explanation and leaves empty handed but has given Mr. Gold some cause for concern.

Katheryn has returned and Regina is peed at Mr. Gold. They have a really cool throw of accusations in his shop leaving Regina wondering just what is Mr. Gold doing. She comes to believe he's making Katheryn's disappearance look like her fault and so she panics. When she asks him why couldn't he have just killed her he makes some kind of quip about" I just couldn't turn her into a snail and squash her now could I?" Regina leaves in a huff and Gold is his smug little self. He just loves playing her for a fool doesn't he. Hey, Gold you do know that black widow has Belle locked in the hospital psycho ward? *Gold's eyes widen. Storybrooke explodes* Sorry, that last part is just a little fantasy of mine.

Later on we're taken into the Fairy Tale Land past and introduced once again to Baelfire and Rumples. It looks to be maybe a little while after the events from Desperate Souls where Bae now has to deal with a majorly discolored, dirty teethed father with crinkled hair and he's not in the least happy about it. When a big dude causes Bae to hurt his knee a majorly peed Rumples turns big dude into a snail and squashes him. Now where have I heard that before? Oh, yeah just earlier when Mr. Gold says the same thing to Regina. We really don't have to have these connections all the time people. Not to mention we now seem to have an answer to who August is. Let's see if I can do this. Bae's knee is hurt and August is having leg spasms! Oh my gosh! August has just GOT to be Baelfire right? From the very beginning I was looking for the obvious so they could twist it by the end. This is fast becoming the norm for this show so I wasn't surprised. Kept saying oh yeah. Well, we're only twenty minutes into the episode. Still time for big twisty ties! Well, later Bae makes a deal with his father that if he can find a way to cure Rumples of the curse without using the dagger that Daddy showed him when their little maid came in on them, then Rumpy will agree to let him do it. Wow, that's a big deal Rumpy. You love deals and they're not to be broken when you make them but can you stand up to your son's? Hmmm. Love for power or love for your boy! Let's see who wins. Later Rumples and Bae are walking in the woods and Rumples tells Bae to go play with some children who seem to be randomly playing in the woods while he attends to some "buisness". That's weird. No one wants to play with Bae. Awww, how sad. Maybe it's because your father's the dark one and their afraid he might kill them too? Naa. That couldn't be a reason. A girl that Bae seems to know sits down beside him and talks about a creature more powerful than Rumples who might be able to help him and his father. Rumples returns having just killed the maid that walked in on them earlier. Oh how sweet. Working for Rumples could have turned out so very wrong for Belle I see. Creepy. This powerful creature turns out to be The Blue Fairy who gives Bae the last magic bean in the land (Jack and the Beanstalk territory maybe). The bean will take Bae and his father to a world without magic! Oh, so he is August! That's how he gets here! Rumples goes back on his deal though when the bean is activated. Bae begins to be sucked into the other dimension and Rumples is too frightened to go with him. Bae is pulled into the green swirling hole but not before calling his father a coward. Oh another person like Belle calling him a coward. What is his magic really for then if he's still a coward?  TO BE CONTINUED
