Once Upon a Time The Stranger Review!

Wow! Tonight's episode was very good! The episode starts out with August fixing Mary and Emma's front door. Mary doesn't want any more sneaky queens snooping around her place with keys and rightly so. We learn that Emma wants to hire Mr. Gold to help her take custody of Henry away from Regina. Who else thought at that time there was nooo doubt that Mr. Gold would help her? A child getting the chance to return to his mother! Of course Gold would help! lol! Snow is happy to get back to her teaching job but we know someone isn't. Regina has a conversation with Mary Margaret about her return to school and where she should be placing blame for the Kathyrn thing. Finally Mary is seeing sense and continues to believe it's Regina's fault despite all the protests. I was waiting for her to mention that little talk they had while she was behind bars but Mary goes and does something better. She tells Regina that she forgives her! The look on Regina's face here and a little while later after Mary says she feels sorry for her and that she must be pretty lonely to have revenge be her only driving force was another wow great scene moment! This, THIS is the words I wanted someone to say to Regina from almost the very beginning! Finally, someone does. Regina tries to shrug it off which made me a little angry that she didn't continue to ponder what was said but maybe she's just trying to hide it. Then Henry appears and digs the dagger in deeper with the promoted speech that good WILL win and evil WILL lose. I like how Lana Parrilla and the writers are portraying Regina. After all the evil things she has done they can make us STILL feel sorry for the truly messed up diva.

Later, August tells Emma she needs to calm down on all the Henry custody stuff and focus on what he thinks is important. Believing in a storybook. Then Emma meets Henry at Granny's Dinner and after all this time of having the Storybook back in his possession Henry FINALLY notices their is a new story! Wow, Henry with all those scenes of you looking in that book you've never noticed until now?! Okay, I guess we have to buy that. Anyway. he starts to talk to Emma about Pinocchio and low and behold we're back in the Fairy Tale Land and on the open sea with you guessed it. Geppetto and his wooden boy.

We follow Geppetto and Woody as they argue on who should keep the white life saver and then we see the whale (Mr. Whale?) open his mouth. We're next given a wet but safe Geppetto on the shore looking for his Woody. I mean Pinocchio. He finds his puppet all lifeless. Boo hoos. Blue Fairy! "I'm a real boy!" The Blue Fairy warns the boy to remember to be brave, unselfish, and truthful and he'll always be a real boy. How sad is that or maybe that's a good thing! "You better behave little boy or I can turn you back to a block of wood in no time!" That's how to keep your kids in line! Everything seems so happy and we're given a close up of Pinocchio's hat which is the same hat that August has on his desk in his room! YAY! After 4 weeks we've finally got our answer! August IS Pinocchio!!! Just to show us they're not kidding this time we also get a glimpse of August's wooden leg! No doubt about it! :D

August calls Mr. Gold and later walks into the pawn shop to meet with him when who should be talking to Mr. Gold but August's dad! I mean the Storybrook version of Pinocchio's dad who has no idea who August is but sure gives August a little jolt to Mr. Gold's smug delight! You go Mr. Gold! Get your revenge on August in showing him how it feels to meet a family member you think you've done wrong after so many years! THAT'S  the way to get your justice instead of merely killing him! After August's father leaves August talks to Mr. Gold about how to get Emma to believe. Mr. Gold promises he'll nudge Emma August's way so he can try to get her to believe again. This is exactly what he does when Emma comes calling and declines her request for being her lawyer which sends her straight to August.

Meanwhile in the Fairy Tale Land the Blue Fairy shows Geppetto a special tree that she wants him to make into a wardrobe for Snow and Charming which will take them to the other world before the Curse begins. Later, Geppetto won't make it unless his son can be one of the only two people who can travel in the wardrobe. She agrees at first but after the events of the pilot take place goes back on her word and says Snow and Emma need to be the two. While the Blue Fairy has gone to prepare the other fairies for the curse Geppetto closes Pinocchio into the wardrobe and seconds later Emma is also in the other world with Pinocchio. He is the seven year old boy who claimed to find Emma on the side of the road. They stay together until they're in an orphanage together where Pinocchio goes back on his word to watch over Emma and guide her. He runs away leaving her behind.

That scene FINALLY showed David doing something right. To show how desperate Regina is getting in trying to keep Mary and David appart we are given Regina's car breaking down and David helping her to her house and eating her food. Who in their right mind would ever eat anything Regina makes?! Oh right. We're talking about David here. Thought we were talking about a character with some sense for a moment. The working her magic line was funny and the look on Regina's face when she talks about finding David and tries to kiss him looked so real. Maybe she did listen to Mary's advice a little. Maybe she is just a lonely little girl who wants someone to love. After David spurns her advances and leaves we get the promoted smashing of the mirror. Kudos to the acting and writers again for making us feel for the evil gal again!

While all this is going on August has taken Emma to the place where they both came into this world. August and Emma have a very moving scene where August tries to get her to believe. Emma really almost made me cry with how much desparation she feels at the prospect of being everyone's savior! Probably the best performance out of Emma ever! Even when August shows her his wooden leg she can't even see it because she's in so much denial. Later we're back home with August who happens to be passing by his father's place and even though his father doesn't remember him August asks to be his partner in making coo coo clocks or something. Back together again. Awww. Over at Regina's house Emma convinces Henry to sneak out of the house and into her car at night. Then drives off with him determined to take him with her out of Storybrooke! The woman's gone crazy again and there's some serious stuff going to go down now! Great show and on to next time's scenes!

SPOILERS! Sneak Peek for Once Upon a Time's The Stranger!

Oh my, what's going on here?!
Do you think David will let Regina kiss him? Will there be a triangle in our future or are the writers just teasing us? Looks like this episode is going to be another stellar one! What do you think? :)

Once Upon a Time "The Return" Review Part 2

Okay, okay. I know this is from "Desperate Souls" but I want to make a point. So Rumples you're not scared of anything? Anything except Bae's deal, evil queen, Belle, being loved, etc. Wow, being the Dark One didn't help you at all did it! Maybe he's just afraid of anything good or at least anything that will take his power away. Poor guy that evil done one heck of a job on you! We love you anyway! How is that possible?! lol! Moving on!

Fairy Tale Land: Continued
Rumples wastes his time being the total opposite of what he said in that video above until Bae is sucked into the green toilet bowl in the sand. NOW, he panics! Where's my boy gone?! I want to go now! WAAAA! Come back! Are we sure Rumples is the adult in this family? Then he plays around in the dirt for a while and yells at The Blue Fairy. They have a back and forth row of it's your fault no it's your fault which leaves Rumples alone saying over and over again"I'll find you, Bae. I'll find you." Gosh, I hope years and years of this regret and that Belle thing has matured Rumples because this was a little embarrassing. :(

Storybrooke
Katheryn has been found and we spend some time with her and Emma. She tells Emma she was tied up in some basement or something and makes absolutely sure that no dirty stuff was involved.Later, all of Mary's newly found friends come over to celebrate that she did not kill Katheryn. This town is soo fickle! Mr. Gold is there and asks Emma about August. She says she barely knows him but trusts him more than you Gold. Aww. Was Rumple a little hurt there? David drops by to try to crash the party but Mary's like heck no don't you invite that traitor inside! So a sad David leaves with Henry. Mr. Gold decides to be an August stalker and follows him to Nun Blue Fairy who he later asks what August said to her. She says he wants to reunite with his father but hasn't done it yet. Hmmm. Red flag! Gold also breaks into August's apartment and finds a picture of the dagger with his name on it! Oh my! What could that mean? Now Mr. Gold is all troubled and wants to talk to the local shrink Archie. By now Mr. Gold is starting to believe August could be his son like the writers think the rest of us do now. So Mr. Gold is thinking for us baby! Then he says some painful words to Archie about him needing to be forgiven. Awww. Also, that he may be seeing what he wants to see like most of the viewing audience! Archie says Mr. Gold should ask to be forgiven and we're off to that infamous cabin by the lake. That cabin's seen a lot of action in this show. Gold beating up French there and Kathy being held captive there. Anyway, Gold meets August and he says he knows who he is and August is like Papa! AHHH! So he IS Baelfire! I imagine by now so many Rumple fans are jumping out of their chairs and screaming their little hearts out. I was in denial. Still couldn't believe it. Something was up! Next, all this forgive mes and boo hoos and hugs! Yay! Father and son together again! Then we get to the subject of the knife! Uh oh! Gold shows August where it is and even gives it to this guy who has blue eyes! Bae had brown eyes! Come one Gold! I know it's been centuries but he's your son! You should have remembered that! August welds the knife and tries to control Gold! YOU'RE NOT MY SON! This part reminded me of another crazed character on another show.
Hmm. Do we really want Rumples going THAT crazy?! Writers please! Oh my so he isn't Baelfire! Who is he? What's going to happen next? Well, Gold gives him this stuff about how if he were Bae he'd know this world has no magic and that knife would n't work. I don't know about this Gold. You're good at talking and you are the one who created this curse. Could this be all talk to get the knife back and not be controlled. If there is anyone who may have their powers in this world it's you and Regina with that crushing hearts thing earlier this season. What the !@#$?  He grabs the knife from August and pushes him into a tree and we get the mess about August being sick and needing magic but he never says out loud if he's a fairy tale character. We just get these knowing looks from him and Gold and of course Gold threatens him and if they were in the FTL he probably would have killed him there. Well, maybe. I'm hoping  Gold is changing from that coward of the past. Anyway he pushes August to continue trying to make Emma believe and since he's dying anyway he'll just leave it at that. Confused much! We still don't really know who this guy really is! Three weeks and that's all we get! Thank you writers! You sly little people! Then we have this short scene with Mary and David. It drags compared to everything else. Come on writers help these two! The show's quickly becoming the Rumples show even though I don't mind that in the least! Yeah baby! The episode ends with Regina wanting to place all the Katheryn blame on another person besides herself. This time it's Mr. Glass who claims he tied Kathy up in the basement of the cabin by the lake and no dirty stuff took place and could we care less! lol! Poor guy deserves it to me. If he wants to be Regina's stooge then let him! Of course Emma doesn't believe a word of it and asks Regina to step out into the hall! Emma suddenly turns into the Witch of the West and says I'll get you my pretty and Henry too! Tell her Emma and take your son which you should have done from the very beginning! BooYaa! OH MY GOSH! Next time scenes are the bomb! Yeah I said it. Maybe Storybrooke will explode and I'll get my fantasy one way or another! Until next time remember. True love's kiss can break any curse and magic always come with a price. Regina's bill is way overdue!

Once Upon a Time "The Return" Review Part 1

Finally after THREE WEEKS and we get a very packed, twisting episode which delivers and yet doesn't at the same time! I wasn't going to review this episode until tomorrow but then I thought oh well. better do it now while it's still fresh in my mind. I know I'll leave tons out. I tend to do that but please feel free to leave a comment about anything that may be on your mind or something I didn't hit upon for this episode!

Wow! It really looked like this August fellow was going to be the son of a certain magical impish being now wasn't it? There was nooo doubt that he couldn't possibly be anything other than him! NOT!!! Not to me at least. lol! Wait, I'm getting ahead of myself. Okay, the series returns from the spring hiatus; hope they all had a great spring break, with a recap of what has been going on this season. Yay, Mary Margaret is off the hook for murder because Emma found a bum behind Granny's diner! Wait, I mean a confused Katheryn of course. Now we see August in bed having some kind of leg spasms or something. They're so bad he falls out of bed. Whoa! What's your problem Auggy? He staggers to his desk which has some kind of doggy paper weight on it and calls someone (Could it be Archie? That's what I thought. lol). He says their plans aren't going fast enough or something. Oh, no! It must have been little Henry. Those two hatch a plan to find something in Mr. Gold's office. How cruel is August? Placing little Henry up as a decoy so you can sneak into Gold's office back door. Does Henry know more about August now then we do? Did August tell him something? Hmmm. Anyway, his plan clearly doesn't work because he's still caught by a slightly peed off Mr. Gold asking what does he want and why is he in his office. I say slightly peed because by the end of this episode Gold will be majorly peed and rightly so in my eyes! Much more than here. August gets off with some lame explanation and leaves empty handed but has given Mr. Gold some cause for concern.

Katheryn has returned and Regina is peed at Mr. Gold. They have a really cool throw of accusations in his shop leaving Regina wondering just what is Mr. Gold doing. She comes to believe he's making Katheryn's disappearance look like her fault and so she panics. When she asks him why couldn't he have just killed her he makes some kind of quip about" I just couldn't turn her into a snail and squash her now could I?" Regina leaves in a huff and Gold is his smug little self. He just loves playing her for a fool doesn't he. Hey, Gold you do know that black widow has Belle locked in the hospital psycho ward? *Gold's eyes widen. Storybrooke explodes* Sorry, that last part is just a little fantasy of mine.

Later on we're taken into the Fairy Tale Land past and introduced once again to Baelfire and Rumples. It looks to be maybe a little while after the events from Desperate Souls where Bae now has to deal with a majorly discolored, dirty teethed father with crinkled hair and he's not in the least happy about it. When a big dude causes Bae to hurt his knee a majorly peed Rumples turns big dude into a snail and squashes him. Now where have I heard that before? Oh, yeah just earlier when Mr. Gold says the same thing to Regina. We really don't have to have these connections all the time people. Not to mention we now seem to have an answer to who August is. Let's see if I can do this. Bae's knee is hurt and August is having leg spasms! Oh my gosh! August has just GOT to be Baelfire right? From the very beginning I was looking for the obvious so they could twist it by the end. This is fast becoming the norm for this show so I wasn't surprised. Kept saying oh yeah. Well, we're only twenty minutes into the episode. Still time for big twisty ties! Well, later Bae makes a deal with his father that if he can find a way to cure Rumples of the curse without using the dagger that Daddy showed him when their little maid came in on them, then Rumpy will agree to let him do it. Wow, that's a big deal Rumpy. You love deals and they're not to be broken when you make them but can you stand up to your son's? Hmmm. Love for power or love for your boy! Let's see who wins. Later Rumples and Bae are walking in the woods and Rumples tells Bae to go play with some children who seem to be randomly playing in the woods while he attends to some "buisness". That's weird. No one wants to play with Bae. Awww, how sad. Maybe it's because your father's the dark one and their afraid he might kill them too? Naa. That couldn't be a reason. A girl that Bae seems to know sits down beside him and talks about a creature more powerful than Rumples who might be able to help him and his father. Rumples returns having just killed the maid that walked in on them earlier. Oh how sweet. Working for Rumples could have turned out so very wrong for Belle I see. Creepy. This powerful creature turns out to be The Blue Fairy who gives Bae the last magic bean in the land (Jack and the Beanstalk territory maybe). The bean will take Bae and his father to a world without magic! Oh, so he is August! That's how he gets here! Rumples goes back on his deal though when the bean is activated. Bae begins to be sucked into the other dimension and Rumples is too frightened to go with him. Bae is pulled into the green swirling hole but not before calling his father a coward. Oh another person like Belle calling him a coward. What is his magic really for then if he's still a coward?  TO BE CONTINUED

The Secret at Bon Boo Mountain (Unfinished)

Sarah just couldn't stuff her favorite bear into her suitcase! No matter how hard she tried the suitcase was too full. It wasn't going to give up! It had enough. Nothing else would fit! Young Sarah kicked the huge suitcase which was lying on the floor just in front of her. That didn't help very much! It only left her foot in a lot of pain. For six year old Sarah, packing things in suitcases just wasn't her cup of tea! "MOM!!!!" Sarah's mother came running into the room as if a bomb had just went off in the hall behind her! "Sarah! What's wrong?! Oh my gosh you scared me! Don't ever scream like that unless you really mean it!" Sarah said, "Well, I did mean it! Panky won't fit! I'm not going to Bon Boo Mountain without Panky!" Mom took Panky, a tan plush teddy bear, from Sarah's arms. "Okay, don't worry about it. I have a feeling you didn't pack the suitcase correctly. DARIN!!!" A fourteen year old boy with shoulder length black hair and in a much too big football jersey strolled into Sarah's room quite smoothly. "Might I add Mom that you could be taking your own advice and I've told you so many times Mom to call me Cameron!" Susan glared at her son. She began tying her red hair up in a pony tail. "How many times do I have to tell you that your name is Darin and it's not going to change!" Darin sat on the edge of Sarah's pink bed. "Mom, just take away the..." "The letter I Darin! I know I've heard this so many times! Just take away the I and it spells "darn" I know and it doesn't matter." Darin mumbled under his breath,"Also the fact you named me after Darin from Bewitched doesn't matter in the least either." Susan grabed Darin's face and glared into his eyes. "It doesn't matter Darin! Learn to live with it! It's you name! Help Sarah pack her suitcase so she can take Panky! I have to go check on Kara." She begins to walk out the room. She stops at the doorway. "Did you brush your teeth?" A soft mumble from the bed. "What?!" "No, mom!" "Well, do it! Kara?" "Yes, mom." Susan was pushing her way into her daughter's bedroom. Something heavy was behind the door. Grunting she finally made her way into Kara' s room. "Kara, could you for once keep your bean bag chair out from behind the door. There are other people in this house." Kara was shuffling out of her bathroom in her white bath robe. Her short, curly hair was just about dry and her big, round glasses were still fogged up. Her nose and mouth were hidden behind a huge red book. She wasn't looking where she was going but Kara didn't have to. She knew her room like the back of her hand. "Kara, please don't tell me that you're still trying to get ready after three hours. We've got to go! Now! I'll give you five more minutes. Change! Now!" Kara sighed and dropped her book on a nearby chair. A few minutes later her voice could be heard from the bathroom. "I've just got to see Mount Vesuvius before I die Mom!" Her mom yelled back, "You can take it with you in the car and watch it there!" Kara made a confused face in the mirror. "What?!" "You can take the movie with you and watch it in the car! Are you about done? We've got to go!" Kara rolled her eyes. "It's a volcano mom...in Italy." When you're grown up and with a fabulous career that brings in loads of money you can make that your first priority." She sighed and stared at the bathroom door. "Don't you have a movie about a volcano?" "That's Dante's Peak. Why are you in such a hurry anyway?" "The discount on Bon Boo Mountain only stays in effect until 3:00 this afternoon and it takes about two hours to get there from here and it's about 1:00 now so if you guys want fun then VAMOOSE!!! Now!!!" All three children ran out of their rooms. Susan let her arms fall at their sides. "If I'd known that was all it would take then we'd already be half way there!" Something click in place in her mind and she hurried behind them. THE RIDE Susan got to the car a few minutes later to find all her children seated inside and ready to go. Still slightly surprised at how easy it was to get her kids to obey her she smiled and climbed into the driver's seat. ''Wow! You three really must want to go to Bon Boo Mountain." She began to crank the car. "No, I want to get this over with so we can get back home. Slingers will be on by then and I'm not missing it," said Darin. "You can live without seeing that show one time, Darin." Darin leaned his head against the window of the farthest seat from his mother in the wagon. He scratched his long nose and mumbled,"The question is whether you'll live if I don't see it." Susan stopped the car in the middle of the highway! Cars came whizzing past them blaring their horns! Darin, Kara, and Sarah screamed, "Momma!!!" Susan drove the car to the side of the rode and turned around. "I don't ever want to hear you threaten me again Darin! I am your mother!" "Momma, did you even hear what Darin really said?" asked Sarah. Darin squinted hard at Sarah and Sarah's eyes widened, she pushed her blond, curly hair out of her eyes then turned around and sat back down in the middle seat in front of Darin. "I don't have to hear what he said Sarah. I know he was back-talking me and that's enough." Kara who was sitting beside Darin in the farthest seat looked over her book for a brief second. Her round glasses caught Darin's eyes, who glared back and then she quickly moved her book back in front of her face again. "Now, all three of you seat belt yourselves. We are going to have fun at Bon Boo Mountain!" Susan turned back around and drove back onto highway again. About ten minutes later Sarah was crying. When Susan asked why she was crying she said that Darin had put gum in her hair because she said she was excited about going to the theme park. "I have had just about enough from you Darin. Now you and your sister get that gum out of her hair and you two better get it all out because I'm not cutting Sarah hair!" Kara reached out and moved her sister's hair over the back of the middle seat and began to pick the gum out of her hair. She motioned to Darin who just shook his head and stared out the window again. A minute or so later Darin mumbled, "What about you Kara? You really want to go to this Boo Boo Fountain or whatever it's called?" Sarah yelled, "Bon Boo Mountain!" "Shut up! Well, do you?" "Well, I think it's mostly for kids like Sarah too but it does have some interesting historical value." "Oh please. Save me from the lecture of Kiddy Town." Kara asked,"What's with you all of a sudden? Why are you in such a bad mood? Don't tell me it's a girl!" Darin just grunted. "Oh my gosh! It is isn't it?!" "Shut up Kara or do you want gum in your hair too? Your hair's already so short and it's practically a nest as it is. Mom would have to shave it all! I wonder how you'd look bald. Probably not much better!" Susan pulled the van into Bon Boo Mountain's parking lot at 2:50 pm. "Come on guys! Out now!" Darin said, "Chill out mom!" "Okay, let's make a run for it!" The children crept out of the van. Kara even yawned. Susan stared at her two unenthusiastic children. All except Sarah who was rocking up and down on the balls of her feet. Susan mumbled,"Whoever can get to the ticket stand first will have my last fudge bar..." One quick look at one another and a small grin then they were off! Once again Susan found herself the one to catch up! They were all standing at the ticket stand by the time she reached them. Panting she said, "Okay, who was her first?" Both Darin and Kara looked down. "Well, what a surprise. It was Sarah." Sarah looked up very innocently but also triumphantly. Susan said, "Yes, that is a surprise. What with you in track and everything." "I didn't let her win!!!" screamed Darin. His mother gave him another look of warning. "Alright Darin." She pulled out her fudge bar and handed it to Sarah who grabbed it, ripped it open, and began eating it. The other two just rolled there eyes and looked in opposite directions. Being beaten by a little girl did not bother them in the least. Susan sighed and dropped her pocket book down in front of the ticket window. She pulled out her discount card. A seedy man with a greasy nose and cold, gray eyes stared back at them from the other side of the window. Susan said, " Hello sir. We want our discount please." The man grabbed the card and moved it in front of his eyes. Darin and Kara eyed each other and tried to stifle a laugh. The graying man said in a reedy voice, "You're cutting it as little close aren't ya mam! It's 2:55 pm!" Susan glared and him, "Well, it isn't 3:00 pm yet sir so can we have out discount?" Sarah, getting bored with the discount biz, decided she would have a look around. So pushing open the brown, creaky door connected to the left side of the ticket stand, Sarah got her first look at the theme park.

Stargate Universe Trailer

I've started watching this SyFy series that only ran for two seasons. I've heard that it got really good there at the end just before it was taken off the air. Actor Robert Carlyle led me to it as it was the project he was doing just before Once Upon a Time. It's pretty good so far. Have you ever watched a show that was really good but sadly didn't last long?

Robert Carlyle as Doctor Nicholas Rush SGU

I've become a fan of Robert Carlyle in Once Upon a Time so I decided to look into some of his other work and found that before OUAT he played Dr. Nicholas Rush in Stargate Universe. Now I've begun watching the show because of him mostly. It's getting pretty good though. Gotten through to about episode 5 or 6 in the first season. Do you ever look into a certain actor's past work when they grab your attention with one extraordinary character?
